14 April -
Letter from the Owner
I am really hoping to get some photos up soon, the hopes
of getting a digital camera this week went down the drain, too busy. Hopefully, I will be able to get myself one soon, along
with that video camera I want.
But as some of you know, studying towards the legal
field takes time and effort. That and work and my other classes combined I have been very busy.
Here's hoping that everyone else’s lives are a lot
quieter and a lot less stressful than mine at the moment.
Kindest Regards,
Shona Hawkins
Manager of ACT Rodent Rescue
Owner of Royal Stuart Rattery and Lou Mousery
25th March - Re-opening my Mousery with different name. Currently working on my Mousery website, watch out for link on
this site.
7th Febuary -Not long after this posting we relised that we had been exposed to a deadly rat and mouse virus. All known
ratteries and Mouseries were told to quarantine for at least 3 months. However, some irresponsible breeders found that they
were above following advise from National Desease Control and the Vets. Some of these breeders even continued to breed,
sell and go to shows during this time and in so doing risk not only their own animals but those owned by others.
Royal Stuart Rattery has been out of Quarantine for some time now (we have been cleared of any traces of the virus still
being here) and (if you could please veiw previous post) only two of the rats listed in the last posting on this page survived. These
two were Royal Stuart Irish (son of Kismet Lilly Potter and James Potter) he is now 7 1/2 months old and because of the virus
his growth was stunted causing him to only ever grow to the size of a 3 month old rat. The other rat that survived out of
the ones that were listed below was Bill Weasley, his growth was not stunted as he was already fully grown.
20th July - Sorry everyone, I have not been updating lately. I have been having a bit of trouble with the new site builder
on Tripod. I think I have it now, lol.
I have had four litters born in the rattery since I last wrote in. Mothers and babies are all doing well.
1* Multiple Prize Winner Victoria a silver fawn self was mated to Reserve Champion Bill Weasley a silverfawn self so
far we have silverfawns and cinnimons and possibly some fawns out of this litter.
2* Kismet Lilly Potter a dove self was mated to James Potter an Argente Self with a brilliant temperament and wonderfully
shaped head. I have argente babies out of this litter.
3* Valparaiso Cyclone a mis-marked fawn hooded with a marvalous temperament was mated to Malfoy a blue DU Spotted also
with a great temperament. I got 11 beaties out of this litter. All are reserved.
4* Four little munchkins were born in this litter. All are staying here.
10th June - *** HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN*** at Cinnamas everywhere across the country. ... By the
way, it is quite different to the other Harry Potter movie, a lot of changes were made and only a few things in the movie
actually co encided with what was said in the book. It was also in my opinion very hard to follow and deffinatly not as good
as the last to movies. I was quite disapointed by it but others may have different views.
7th June - ***Count Down Begins til Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban is out at Cinnamas across Australia
